Early Sunday Morning Blogging

Been awhile since i blog last. I been pretty busy between real life and work lately, just never had a chance to write anything about it.

Where to start…

Lately i been doing alot of perl scripting at work. I find a couple of tasks that i can figure out how to automate using perl. So far i got two scripts done and working, however i want to extend the one script to add some more functionality to it. One thing i like about Perl is that fact that it is the debian of programing langauges. The reason why is Debian has 20 million packages of software out there. Perl on the otherhand has 20 million modules out there. Everytime i look up on how to do something in Perl, they have a perl module that does what i need. Simply amazing.
Job front is doing ok i guess, I’m on the hunt again for a new one. It’s not that i dont like what i am doing, it is just that with the way things are going on i dont know what my employment status is going to be at the end of the year.

Amanda and i went looking at wedding bands the other night. Found two that we both really loved. The band she picked out looks smilar to the band for her engagement ring, it’s like a perfect match. I found a band that i liked as well. Just need to pick them up at some point this week.

I had to call IBM for my laptop yesterday, the damn power cord took a crap again. This is the second time i have to replace it. Again I had no issues with IBM support when i called in. I got routed to a call center in Atlanta, told the guy once (key word here folks) and he is getting a part sent out to me. Only problem is that they didnt have it in stock and have to get it from Japan, so it will take a couple extra days. The guy also mention that if the power brick/cord dies again I should send it in to have the motherboard looked at. This is how support should be ( i am looking at you Dell), not sending me out 4~5 cords before realizing “o hey the mobo might be having an issue”.
Speaking of laptops, I saw Apple has an app out called Boot Camp that will allow you to install XP on a macbook pro. This right here will be the reason why i am strongly considering a Mac Book pro for a new laptop when it is time to replace the thinkpad. I have a horrible gaming addiction and this would be an ideal solution to deal with that on a Mac. I wonder if this will work for Vista when that comes out.
