October 27, 2004 I think its official, i hit burn out. I have no ambition to do anything extra and i barely have enough energy to do the stuff that needs to get done on a day to day basis. I’m starting to seriously reconsider getting out of IT all together. I’m not learning anything interesting at my current job, i am constantly getting stuck with shit work and having to “prove” myself. I am sick of having people say that i know my shit, etc etc. and not have anything to show for it, except more shit work.
to anyone saying i will get my chance….fuck you. I been working on it for 4 years now…I’m just sick of putting all i got into my job and just get stuck in the same spot, doing the same boring shit. My only hope is something opens up for me when i get done with school.

October 21, 2004 Well i worked on my project a little bit last night while i was at work.
I went and installed apache-ssl, libapache-mod-dav, got mod_dav up and running with the help of chong from #linux. It’s working to a point where i can publish a calendar to the server. For some reason though i can’t subscribe to a calendar already on the server, it just gives me a 404.
It’s a little rough right now but what they have done with it so far is pretty neat. With some more bug fixes and polishing it can be a killer calendar app. Especially if are using it in thunderbird as an extension.

October 20, 2004 So i was in school working this morning, while i was waiting for a couple of laptops finish being ghosted. I began to mess around with Mozilla’s Sunbird, a calendar application. I been looking for a way to keep track of dates for when i need to send bills and to keep track of other shit.
One thing i noticed while playing around was an option to publish to a remote server. After doing some searching i found out that you can publish a calendar out to an apache server running mod_dav then be able to sync that calendar across different clients. So say i like i setup a calendar at home using the sunbird client with important tasks and stuff for the day. Then when i am out at school or work, i can fire up my laptop that has thunderbird or firefox installed with the calendar extension, and sync my remote calendar. From there i can work on a action items for work, or add information for school like due dates for projects.
I found some documentation out on the web that shows you how to do this, but i would like to get a full guide up with everything you need to do in one document. From getting apache with mod_dav (webdav) up and running to getting sunbird syncing with it. So first i will need to get all working and stuff, then i will do the write up.

October 14, 2004 So i had some extra time and was thinking about upgrdaing the PC. This of course is not going to happen any time soon, i still need to pay off a credit card. But when i do get some extra crash i made up a list of things i would like to upgrade on the main box
Processor - Athlon XP 3000 “Barton” newegg link
Ram - A gig of PC3200 DDR ram newegg link
DVD burner - NEC 16x dual layer and format burner newegg link
LCD monitor - Anything thats 19″ and can do under 20ms response time
With this, i wouldnt need to upgrade the PC for a long time, its been atleast 2 years since i upgraded. Anything new i got has been replacement for stuff that has broken before.
Maybe this will give me incentive to get shit paid off ASAP.
