I was just reading my morning list of websites and ran across this news blurb at Arstechnica . It seems that Nintendo has been granted with a patent that covers alot of the aspects of online gaming via a console game system. Which in a away is rather odd considering Nintendo’s past stance on not having online capabilities on their consoles. That and that fact their 2 major rivals as had the capability in the systems for quiet some time now. Personally i think the patent system is screwed up and needs major reform. Just some of the rediculous patents that are being granted is just stupid and eventually its going to stifle innovation. People just dont want to get sued because they invented something that someone else had an idea about it a few years ago and patented that idea.
