August 31, 2004 I think i overcame one of the biggest difficulties when it comes to programing….finding a project to do. In my pursuit to play around with php5 i have come to the idea that i am going to make a to do list/task manager type app with php5 and a postgresql backend. I might also add some of mozilla’s XUL stuff in as well, i’ll have to wait and see if i can atleast get a basic framework done.
August 27, 2004 So i just took a look at my bank account today to see how the cash flow is looking for the weekend…I am depressed. I dont think i have every let this go down so low before in a long time. Its not like i been spending it on garbage, most of it has been put to bills, tuition, and moving stuff. Good thing i racked up close to 20 hours of OT in this check comming up and atleast 11 hours for the next one. Hopefully that will bring my back up to a more comfertable spot. UPDATE: Yeap i got screwed out of my overtime. For some reason the hours show up, but no money. But of course the damn transcriptionists get theirs. The office manager is going to look into it on Monday.
August 20, 2004 I was just reading my morning list of websites and ran across this news blurb at Arstechnica . It seems that Nintendo has been granted with a patent that covers alot of the aspects of online gaming via a console game system. Which in a away is rather odd considering Nintendo’s past stance on not having online capabilities on their consoles. That and that fact their 2 major rivals as had the capability in the systems for quiet some time now. Personally i think the patent system is screwed up and needs major reform. Just some of the rediculous patents that are being granted is just stupid and eventually its going to stifle innovation. People just dont want to get sued because they invented something that someone else had an idea about it a few years ago and patented that idea.
August 13, 2004 my video card is taking a crap all of a sudden. I’m going to try a few things and see if it helps, if not i will need to make an emergency purchase this weekend for a new video card. Hrmm i think its a good time to check out a Nvidia based card this time around. UPDATE: yea i reinstalled the drivers and i reseated the card and made sure there was no dust bunnies in the box. Card is still crapping out. Text is comming out all corrupted and i have little black and red boxes all over the place. Man this blows
August 6, 2004 Yea so you know what sucks, when too many good titles come out around the same damn time. So i just picked up Doom 3, and the Dawn of War open Beta for the PC. On top of me also working on Disgaea and Need for Speed:Underground. So while i am checking out EB’s site to see what is coming out i see this… Hot Shots Gold: FORE! UGH, plus on top of that i still need to pick up Front Mission 4. Man so much gaming so little time and money.
