Aces!, another fun drive into work today.
In other news, i finally got around to updating the kernel on the laptop. I been running 2.4.x for awhile now and finally figured it was about time to move to 2.6. So i grabbed 2.6.1 from kernel.org and let that build over the night while i slept. Last time i tried to upgrade to 2.6 I did it via the rpm way…which i am never going to do again. Everything pretty much works now, i just need to figure out ALSA considering i never used it before. I just stuck with the OSS driver for the maestro3 card that’s in the laptop. I also went out and grabbed Xfce4 and installed that on the laptop as well. So far i am digging, i just need to customize it abit and then i’ll post a screenshot with it running on the laptop.
Looks like i am going to drop proftpd on drwily, I’m going to migrate to pureftpd. Proftpd refused to do what i need it to do, plus the documentation seems more complete for pureftpd. Not sure when i am going to migrate over yet. It all depends on when i get the time to do it.
I been looking at CSSzengarden lately getting some idea’s on how to redo this site. I been really wanting to customize the look of it for a long time now. It just seems the default Movabletype styles really suck.
Nick hooked me up with some music last night. I now have in my posession the new Hybrid CD “Morning Sci-Fi” and the new Junkie XL “A Broadcast From The Computer Hell Cabin” CD. So far i have been able to get through the Hybrid and man does it kick ass. As for Junkie XL, i got through maybe half of the first CD and i am also really impressed with this. He has alot of different artist’s making an appearence on the CD, some of them are Saffron from Republica, Sasha, Gary Neuman, Robert Smith from the Cure, plus a few more i am not familar with.
Well time to get some breakfast in me before i hit the gym
