November 12, 2003 Yea i been slacking lately. Just been really busy with school, work and being happy with the lady i couldnt ask for more. I’m in the process of planning out some personal projects that i can keep busy with at work. Seeing how all my work related ones have been taken away from me.
Here is my list of things that i am going to be starting..
-Write up a review on Suse 9 linux for Linux.Ars. I just picked it up today from compusa and will be sacrifcing my fedora install on the laptop. Hopefully i can get cracking on this and get it ready by next Tuesday.
-Learn Macromedia Studio MX. I been really wanting to learn this app for awhile now. Especially the flash aspect of it. I seen some really awesome things that can be done with it, that are not too stupid.
-Still want to learn a programing language, problem is i keep bouncing between 5 different languages and not just sticking with one.
-Get my budgeting and finances inorder. I know i been saying this for like forever now. But i really want to get this setup and going. The new year is coming up and i want to start off on the right foot.
-Redesign on the site. Another one of the things i talked about doing when i first setup MT. I really wanted to customize it and pimp it out so that it looks pretty cool . I’ll maybe tie that in with learning Studio MX.
Some long term projects that i need to do..
-Rebuild drwily. I really need to get this box back up and running, which requires parts and money. I think with taxes i might spring for a low end Dell Poweredge to replace it with.
-Finish school and become certified. I really need to crack down on this too and starting taking more classes or something. I also would like to take my A+ and CCNA cert test at some point early spring next year or possibly sooner. I’ve been also toying with the idea of maybe getting Forensic Computer or possibly doing a 180 and getting in Law., in particular Internet law. But we shall see how things go, i still need to get my 2 year degree.

November 4, 2003 Man the next few months are going to be really exciting on the game front. Hvae some really good titles coming out that should keep me busy for a long time to come. That is when i finish all the current ones i have now 
Only downer is the fact that Half-Life 2 was delayed till April 2004, Valve is saying it was due to the fact that an unknown cracker broke into their network and stole about a 3rd of the games source code. I been waiting for this title for a long time as a avid fan of the original series. It also doesnt help after seeing all the really neat demos that they put out to show the capabilities of their new tech. But you know what i waited this long for it, i can wait a few more months. In the meantime i wll just have to hurry up and get through everything else i currently have.
Call Of Duty was released last week. It’s another World War 2 based first person shooter that has you playing as different allied armies (USA, British, Russian). The single player demos were really really good, very fast paced and action packed. Plus the sound effects were jaw dropping. From the sounds of German machine gun positions opening up on your squad, to the morter rounds being dropped ontop of you, to the anti aircraft opening up on the allied planes flying above you, it makes you really think that you are there in the middle of it. I also got a chance to check out the multiplayer and wasnt really impressed with it. It has some neat features, but overall to me its a rehash of everything else thats been out there. I think i might pick this up for the single player alone and not bother with multiplayer.
I’m going to try and start writing some small reviews for games i happen to rent or get my hands on. The might be the best reviews in the world, but i dont get paid to do this all day. and i am more doing it to improved my lackluster writing abilities.
Now i am going to toss in a small rant. Lately i been getting pertty jaded with PC gaming in general. The reason why is that lately with all the cheating thats been going on with all the different multiplayer games out there, to the trashtalking 13 year olds who think they are l33t, to games coming out that will have a 50/50 chance of working on your system before needing 3 or 4 patches, its starting to get really old. Especially the last part , with the way games are coming out nowadays. I’m not going to totally lay blame on the developers, i understand that there are so many different hardware configurations out there to make sure your game works on them all. Or your publisher is pushing to get the game out the door so they can make money on it. Its getting to the point that i dont want to spend $50 or get really frustrated on a game that needs a ton of work arounds to get working, or not working at all. So i think i am going to start sticking with console games more then PC ones for now. Atleast i know that they will work right out of the box.
