October 27, 2003 Well this weekend was a pretty good one. Nothing like spending it with the love of you life.
Amanda and I went and saw the remake of “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”, I was kinda shocked at the cast line up for it. It had Jessica Biel, and R. Lee Emery, were the two that stood out for me. I thought it was a pretty good remake that didn’t suck(tm), it did its job well and that was to scare the piss out of you. There were a few parts that made everyone in the theatre jump, which was good. I would recommend seeing it if you have nothing better to do and want to see an old school hack/slash flick.
Managed to see the final trailers for Matrix Revolutions and The Return of the King. Man the more and more i see the trailers the more excited i get that they are coming out soon. I just hope that in Revolutions they dont leave any loose ends, god that would piss me off.
Also saw a trailer for the director’s cut of Alien. Looks like they are going to release it in the theaters on Halloween. I would like to check that out at some point. I remember watching it when i was younger and it scared the piss out of me. I would love to see it on the big screen remastered with the deleted scene’s added in.
Well i am going to, going to try and write up something here for linux.ars (key word is try) and do some work.

October 21, 2003 A little explaination into yesterday’s outburst. Where i work i normally sit on my ass and just monitor stuff until it breaks. When that happens i have to either fix it or call out to people who can fix it. So for awhile i been trying to get in on some extra projects to learn more about other systems, plus to give me something to do so i am not bored. I might have mentioned a few times some of the projects i been doing from time to time. Well what happened was i got pulled from all my current projects and i am not allowed to take on anymore. Their reasoning is because of “performence issues”, i say its bullshit. What happened i forgot to check a count on a job that was running, and it came up wrong. Now before we never really had to check it and no one really made a big stink about it till now. So now i got smacked hard because of it, i know i screwed up and i am only human. The thing that pisses me off the most is that we have people in my department who have messed up on a consistant basis and nothing ever happens to them. Meanwhile i do all this extra stuff and never have a problem, until this one incident. We are talking mistakes bigger then this that has cost the company money. But nothing ever happens to them, instead i have one slip up and i am public enemy #1. So for now on i am not going to bother putting forth the extra effort to do anything extra at work, they have effectivly killed that. I’m just going to go in, do my job and if i get bored, i’ll work on my own personal non-work related projects that will hopefully land me in a better place then this.

October 20, 2003 Whoa boy did i have a good weekend, i really needed that bad. This weekend was the official arslcan/arstechnica meet in Rochester NY. ITs were geeks and gamers from across the country converge in Rochester to get completely drunk off their asses and have a good time. Got to try out a few new different kind’s of beer and mixed drinks this time around. One of the coolest things i had this weekend was this Cherry Wheat beer. It has the normal beer tastes with this cherry after taste to it, and i am not talking about the cough syrup cherry taste either. The other thing that was pretty good was an Irish Carbomb. You take a glass of Guiness and drop a shot of Bailey’s into it and down it. In addition to the drinking was much game playing. Both the Gamecube and the Xbox got alot of play this weekend. The games of choice was Sega Soccer Slam, Super Smash Brothers, Soul Calibur 2 for the cube and some Rally race game for the Xbox. So all in all a good time was had by all
