January 31, 2003 Long day today, but I dont care. School kicked ass and I found out that Tall Paul Newman came out with a new Mix CD. It even comes with a DVD with a Dolby 5.1 version of the live set (O HELL YEA!!) so going to pick it up this weekend well time to get back to work, snoogans
Also if i didnt mention this before, my W2’s finally came in (ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME). So hopefully I can get my tax groove on and get some money back from the .gov
January 30, 2003 Thats how i feel about work right now. Recently I applied for a position for a Systems admin of our company. This is something that i been wanting to do for a really long time and was looking forward to getting a crack at it. Well i put my resume and internal job app. in and began to wait. Fast forward a few weeks and I still havent heard anything yet. Then yestreday I heard that they froze any new hiring for anything. Needless to say I was pretty disappointed (well who am I kidding I was fucking pissed), I been having this itch lately that I feel like that i am just wasting my time and should be something more interesting. Not sitting around and wasting my skills. If it wasnt for the fact that I am currently in school and the current job market is horrible, I would have started looking for a new job. I’m justing hoping that they will open it back up in a few months or so, the alternative is to stick it out and wait till i am finished with school. In Other news going to putting up a testing section of the site soon. Its going to be showing off some PHP projects i am working on. Plus some other stuff as well. January 22, 2003 Taking a small break from working on some php projects to write about a few things. Lately people seemed to wraped up about the whole Iraq issue and that there is going to be a draft when we go to war. Personally i dont think there will be a draft and i am sick and tired of people saying that there is going to be one. Granted i dont know that for sure, but its my point of view. Also I understand we need to get that loon out of power over there before he does something stupid (like start WW3). But one thing is that with the millitary force we have now, we will just end up bombing the shit out of his country and then send in the troops to mop up. If they need more troops they have plenty of reserve units to pull from. Also as for North Korea, i dont think anything is really going to come from that. Granted things are tense, but its just the North trying to use blackmail in order to get what they want because they are in pretty bad shape right now. The funny thing is that they will get what they want…and the circle continues. Now that i am done with the things out and abroad, time to hit in on a few things from the home front. Recently there has been a lasting battle between groups such as the RIAA vs. the general public. First off i want to send a big fuck you to these groups. Everyday our rights as consumers are slowly being taken away from us. They sit there and nail us with high prices on CDs and wonder why everyone wants to swap music over the internet. But they will tell you well its because of the priacy that’s going on nowadays. I remember about 6-7 years ago, walking into a Media Play and dropping $11-13 dollars for a CD. Now fast forward back to present day, that same CD is now selling for $16-17 at places like Media Play and as high as $20 in the mall stores. Now in order to protect their interests, the RIAA is trying to push the goverment (more like buying them off) to pass all sorts of niffty piece of legistration that will do nothing but cause us the consumers more grief. ok back to coding
January 17, 2003 Well now that i am done helping the TNS data group re-wire the entire systems room at our one site. My boss has something else lined up for me, he told me to speak with our head engineer. So i went up to him and asked what he needed me to work on next. He said that he is going to want me to work on HP Openview . Not sure exactly what he is going to have me do with it. I’ll find out when i get back from vacation next week. Also I find out that they are going to start interviewing for the system admin job thats open. Man i cant wait, i hope i get an interview. I really want to get into system administration, but with going to school right now possibly being in the way I’ll have to turn it down. I really cant let work get in the way of school. I put school off long enough.
January 15, 2003 According to CNN Money , the 5th book in the series “Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix” is going to be released this summer. They say its going to be a third longer then the previous book “Goblet of Fire”. All I have to say is about damn time, I remember getting hooked on the first four books(you can thank my mom and my aunt for that). After i finished the last one i was sooo jonesing for a new one and finally it is comming. Hopefully it will be as good as the last one, due to the event thats are unfolding
